事实上“左眼跳财，右眼跳灾”等，没有任何科学依据，眼皮跳跟身体健康有相关倒是真的。
1.生理性原因：劳累、用眼过度、精神紧张、工作压力大以及不良生活习惯（烟酒）等；
2.病理性原因：眼内异物、眼睛炎症以及神经系统病变等。
生理性的眼皮跳，发生时间比较短，症状也不严重，您仅仅需要闭上眼睛休息一会，局部按摩或者热敷一下，症状就会消失。
但是，当眼皮跳不能缓解，一直持续且有加重倾向，并且神经内科排查没有异常，就需要来医院做下眼科检查，有可能是眼睑痉挛。
眼睑痉挛就是我们通常所说的眼皮跳，系指眼、眶和眶周轮匝肌的自发痉挛性收缩，持续痉挛时间可长可短，痉挛的表现为非意志性强烈闭眼的不断重复。
其实临床上遇到的大部分是没有明确病因的、功能性的眼睑痉挛，往往认为可能是因为眼睛干燥或屈光不正引起长期视疲劳。其中约有超过80%的患者有“怕光”主诉。
一般来说，眼睑痉挛有三种治疗手段：口服药物治疗或针灸治疗（病程在六个月以内）；肉毒素局部注射治疗（疗效好且安全性高）；手术治疗（眼轮匝肌切除术）。
其实，对于大多数患者来说，肉毒毒素局部注射治疗疗效相对较好。
肉毒毒素其主要作用是抑制神经末梢释放乙酰胆碱，引起肌肉松弛麻痹，从而达到抑制肌肉异常活动。目前是国际上认可的治疗眼睑痉挛一线治疗手段。
它的优点：症状改善率达90%以上；相比手术治疗更微创、安全；注射后不需要服用任何药物。
它的缺点：对该疾病无法除根，需要重复多次注射，平均疗效持续3~6个月。
一部分患者由于眼皮负担过重导致的眼睑痉挛，就可以通过手术去除肥厚的眼轮匝肌和皮下脂肪，从而减轻眼睑的负担。
过程与美容的双眼皮手术并没有太大的差别，但是不仅可以改善了眼皮松弛的外观，还解决了 “眼皮跳”问题。
